So, I am really doing this.  For months I’ve been thinking about this trip but never thought the time would actually arrive that I’m off to Germany; by myself.  My dear Dave has given me his blessings to go pursue this history tour and fulfill a life long curiosity of just what the hell happened in Germany to make the nation full of all kinds of  “good” people sell their soul to Hitler’s evil ?   Having read hundreds of book on this subject I still don’t get it.

Oh, I understand that due to world events for decades before the collective madness started they were in the right place in time for such a thing to gel.  The hated Versailles Treaty, the devastating economy and of course blaming the Jews for all of it was just ripe for the picking by an opportunist such as Adolf Hitler and his thugs.   Suppose his father hadn’t changed their surname from Schickelgruber to Hitler if ???  Heil Schickelgruber just doesn’t cut it.
